Here is a funny memory- we grew LOTS of tomatoes this year. James begged me to make some salsa so I did... I made a ton. I had him taste test the first batch for the "heat" level to see if it was spicy enough for him. He said it wasn't spicy enough so I said I would throw in another jalapeno. He looked at the jalapeno and said "that's a green pepper, no wonder the salsa isn't spicy...geez!" I said, "are you insane? I think I know the difference between a flippin green pepper and a jalapeno!!" He kept arguing with me. I handed him the "vegetable" and told him to bite it. He did. A big bite. He chewed it. He laughed and said, "it IS a green pepper!"...pause ......."aaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!" .......yeah...he pretty much cried like a girl and realized it was a jalapeno. The picture above is him downing a bunch of milk and yelling at me not to take his picture. It was so funny. That was an awesome night. I will always remember that when I make salsa, which by the way turned out amazing :)
"Parents must bring light and truth into their homes by one family prayer, one scripture study session, one family home evening, one book read aloud, one song, and one family meal at a time. They know that the influence of righteous, conscientious, persistent, daily parenting is among the most powerful and sustaining forces for good in the world. The health of any society, the happiness of its people, their prosperity, and their peace all find common roots in the teaching of children in the home." - Elder L. Tom Perry

Time is Passing Me By & SALSA BABY!!
I sat down tonight and thought to myself, where did summer go? Where did 2009 go? Where did Hyrum's 1st year of life go?! I feel like time is just passing by faster and faster every day. I need to do better with this blog... especially for journaling purposes. So, here is to blogging at least once a week! I want my kids to have their memories of growing up preserved somewhere, so this blog will be printed into a book for them to have... hopefully that can keep me motivated to keep up with this blog :)
