"Parents must bring light and truth into their homes by one family prayer, one scripture study session, one family home evening, one book read aloud, one song, and one family meal at a time. They know that the influence of righteous, conscientious, persistent, daily parenting is among the most powerful and sustaining forces for good in the world. The health of any society, the happiness of its people, their prosperity, and their peace all find common roots in the teaching of children in the home." - Elder L. Tom Perry

Fourth of July!!

The kids have been really enjoying their summer...especially Isabelle.  I think I might have to drag that girl back to school! She does miss her friends from school though.  One of James' friends gave us this inflatable water toy and the kids love playing in it.  Hyrum likes to torture his sister by constantly aiming the water sprayer at her :)
The week of the 4th of July was so busy! First, we had Sienna's blessing and luncheon and then my cousin Brandi & her family from Iowa arrived later in the week and stayed with us... which was so awesome!  We loved having them here and hope they come back every year.  They have 3 kids just like us so we had a house full, plus my other cousin Brandon stayed with us too!  It is so nice to finally have a house large enough for our families to come and visit and have a space of their own.  It will be even better when we get the 3rd bathroom in the basement finished!!

Here are the kiddos waiting for the parade to start:
We had lots of yummy food and visited with family at my Aunt Caroline's on the Fourth:

I realized we would need something for the kids to do all day in Menan so they wouldn't drive us grown ups bonkers so I had my mom pick up a bunch of different water toys and James got everything all set up.  Genius idea by the way!  It kept the kids so busy!!  Except for Hyrum.  He was going through a phase during the Fourth that lasted a few weeks wear he REFUSED to take his shirt off in front of anybody... and REFUSED to swim in front of anybody.  What a weirdo.  He could care less now so who knows why he does the things he does :)  Isabelle and the other kids had a blast though!

Grandpa ALWAYS shows up to the celebration minutes before the parade starts on this 4 wheeler...EVERY YEAR.  Hyrum hopped right on after the parade and was ready for a ride.  Apparently, Zachey was too and gave Hyrum a nice big squeeze hug that was not enjoyed by Hyrum... haha!

Isabelle & Kenna kept pretending the slip 'n slide was a fashion runway, the aisle you walk to get married.. lol... you get the jist.  Girls are so creative :)  They were the best of friends.

Grandma Watson's many faces :)  Good job James!

Sienna did pretty good for being away from home ALL day... as long as the stroller kept moving or someone was holding her she would sleep.  I think she had a great day being loved on constantly by everyone!
