"Parents must bring light and truth into their homes by one family prayer, one scripture study session, one family home evening, one book read aloud, one song, and one family meal at a time. They know that the influence of righteous, conscientious, persistent, daily parenting is among the most powerful and sustaining forces for good in the world. The health of any society, the happiness of its people, their prosperity, and their peace all find common roots in the teaching of children in the home." - Elder L. Tom Perry

Hyrum turns 3!!

We started Hyrum's birthday by letting him open one present first thing in the morning.  He has had these "baby" work boots that had finally worn out since he insisted on wearing them everyday so I was actually able to find the exact same pair, but in his size and now they were REAL work boots- tough and sturdy.  As you can see, he LOVED them and has worn them everyday since :)

Breakfast waffle or pancake with whip cream smiley face- I can't remember which now ;)  Some self b-day portraits, and lunch at Gator Jack's, where he climbed on the alligator:

Hyrum got this awesome John Deere tractor riding toy last Christmas from my parents and it came with a pull behind trailer, but some parts were missing and my parents took forever to order new parts and get it put together.  They finally got the parts and we put it together for the birthday boy to enjoy!  He thinks it is the coolest thing ever!  His favorite job is taking all the trash out from the shop to the big blue dumpster.  He throws the tractor in "road" gear (2nd gear), peels out and takes the trash out.  It is so hilarious to see how serious he takes his job!!

Yummy YUMMY birthday cake- it was a super moist chocolate cake with a to-die-for peanut butter frosting.  I was rushed once again throwing it together- it's tough being a working mom- but it was seriously so yummy!!

Presents- loves his cowboy hat:

Singing happy birthday and blowing out candles:

LOVE YOU HYRUM!!  Whew! No more birthday's until James's!!
