The Fourth of July was a great family celebration this year! Menan does a lot of activities for being such a small town. We started the day by having breakfast at the city park- James volunteered to serve/clean up breakfast so he was there from about 6am-11am, but he loved meeting lots of new people. Then we had lunch with my dad's side of the family. My Aunt Deena, Uncle Don and cousin Chelsey were here from Washington. There was lots of eating and visiting- it was great to catch up! Wish Brandi and her family could have made it this year though. It's always fun to swap "toddler stories"! Aunt Deena did a good job of filling me in on a lot of McKenna's adventures so far though :) Hope you can make it next year Brandi!! After lunch we waited around for the parade. Isabelle LOVED the horses and the fire trucks. There was a really big break during the parade and she started getting really tired and bored, so once the parade was over we took her home for a much needed nap. James stayed at the house with Isa while she slept so he could catch up on some work- although I think he took his own little nap-while I stayed with the family and visited. After 2 hours I went back home and found them just waking up :) They slept through the duck race so we went over to the church park where all the festivities were going on. They have tons of booths, games, food, crafts etc. We bought Isa some cotton candy- which she hated!! We enjoyed it though! We also got some snow cones and funnel cake. Then it was time to head over to a fire pit for some s'mores! Isa did a few sparklers, and then we watched the neighbor's fireworks until the city firework show started. Isabelle wasn't scared of the fireworks at all! She loved them.. but could barely sit still since she's never been up so late before- it was 11pm by the time we got her home, bathed, and in bed. It was a great, relaxing day- especially since everything is in walking distance :)
