"Parents must bring light and truth into their homes by one family prayer, one scripture study session, one family home evening, one book read aloud, one song, and one family meal at a time. They know that the influence of righteous, conscientious, persistent, daily parenting is among the most powerful and sustaining forces for good in the world. The health of any society, the happiness of its people, their prosperity, and their peace all find common roots in the teaching of children in the home." - Elder L. Tom Perry

Isabelle's 1st Birthday!!

Well the time has flown by! We can't believe our baby is now 1 year old!! We have so much fun with her and look forward to many more birthday celebrations with her! Isabelle can now take about 10 steps on her own and she LOVES to go outside. She has learned about 10 baby signs and uses them all the time-definately a life saver for mommy! She understands lots of directions that we give her like "take off your socks", or "go get your shoes", and our favorite, "clean up your toys"!! We can't believe how much she is learning now... it's hard to keep up with teaching her new things!

Today at 5 pm we had Isabelle's birthday party with the Watson side of the family. We all met up at Grandpa & Grandma Watson's new porch for the celebration! Here are some pics from the party!

-Isabelle's Butterfly Birthday Cake: Mommy made it!!!!-

-Isabelle lightly poking her cake: she definately is a careful girl!-

-Isabelle enjoying her cake: At first she would only stick one finger in the frosting and lick it, then after being really careful for a while, mommy decided to stick the cake in her hands... so Isabelle squished it all up and ended up eating only a bite or two... she doesn't like to be messy-

-Isabelle opening her presents--Daddy bought Isabelle a special gift just from him: Talking Elmo, a Dora the Explorer kite, and an Elmo book-

-Uncle Keith gave Isabelle this fun riding toy!-

We had such a fun time at Isa's 1st birthday! Next Sunday we will be having one for the Torres side of the family!! More fun and more pictures!
